What is this?
The Jotform integration messages people on WhatsApp right after they submit one of your Jotforms. Each connection watches one form. What can I do here?
- Send a WhatsApp template when a form is submitted
- Connect several forms, each with its own message
- See every submission Jotform sent, including failures
How to use it
1
Open the Jotform page
Go to Integrations, click Jotform, then Connect.
2
Enter your Jotform details
- Paste your Jotform API key with full access (in Jotform under Settings → API).
- Enter the Jotform form ID or link, for example
https://form.jotform.com/241234567890123.
3
Choose your messages
Pick the WhatsApp template to send when the form is submitted:
Leave an event empty to send nothing for it.
4
Set up and activate
Click Set up and activate. The platform registers the webhook with Jotform for you and creates a ready-made automation that sends the right template for each event. You can open that automation in the builder any time.
Things to know
- The customer’s phone number is taken from a phone-named field in the form, or otherwise from any answer that looks like a phone number. Make sure your form asks for one — submissions without a phone number can’t be messaged.
- Repeats are ignored. If Jotform sends the same event twice, the customer isn’t messaged twice.
- Jotform can’t sign its requests. Instead, the webhook address the platform gives Jotform contains a secret token, so only Jotform submissions to that address are accepted.
- One connection per form. To watch another form, connect Jotform again with that form’s ID.
Troubleshooting / Technical Notes
- Connecting fails. Check the details you entered and that they belong to the right Jotform account. The error from Jotform is shown on the page.
- No messages are sent. Check the connection shows Connected, a template is chosen for the event, and the template is approved.
- A request shows as failed. Open the connection’s Activity tab and select the request to see the error and its raw body. A missing phone number is the most common cause.
- Webhooks look missing. On the connection page, click Verify on Jotform to check they are still registered. If any are missing, disconnect and reconnect to register them again.
- You rotated your key or token. Open the connection’s Settings tab and update the credentials.
