What is this?

Facebook automations have their own trigger types, on top of the generic ones covered in Triggers. Most Facebook flows start with activity on your Page rather than a direct Messenger message.

How to use it

Create the workflow on the Facebook channel

Go to Automation → Create Automation, choose your Facebook channel, and pick the trigger.

Scope a comment trigger

For Post and Live comments, select which post or Live the trigger watches — or leave it open to all of them.

Add comment and mention steps

Comment and mention triggers unlock the matching steps — reply publicly, send an FB Private Reply into Messenger, or moderate the comment. See Facebook Steps.

Test, then activate

Trigger the real event once (comment, mention, or referral click) and confirm the flow runs, then activate — see Manage Live Flows.
Pair Someone @mentions your Facebook Page with FB Private Reply to move the conversation from a public mention into Messenger.

Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

  • The flow never runs. Check that it’s Active, points at the correct post or Live, and that the Facebook Page is still connected.
  • Comment or mention steps are missing from the palette. They only appear when the trigger is a matching comment or mention trigger.
  • The referral trigger doesn’t fire. Confirm the link includes a ref parameter and points to your Page’s Messenger entry point.
