# WhatsApp QR Codes

> Generate scannable QR codes and wa.me links that open a WhatsApp chat with your business.

## What is this?

WhatsApp QR Codes lets you generate scannable QR codes and `wa.me` short links that open a WhatsApp chat with your business — optionally pre-filled with a starter message. Customers scan the code (on packaging, a poster, a receipt) or click the short link and land straight in a chat with your number.

## What can I do here?

* View all QR codes and short links created for the active WhatsApp channel, with **Code**, **Prefilled Message**, **Deep Link**, and **QR Image** columns.
* See summary counts: **Total QR Codes & Short Links**, **With Prefilled Message**, **Without Prefilled Message**.
* Search codes by code, prefilled message, or deep link.
* Filter the list to codes with or without a prefilled message using the status tiles.
* Click **Create QR Code** to generate a new one.
* Click a row (or **View** from its actions menu) to open **QR Code Details** — see the QR image, the prefilled message, and the deep link.
* From a code's actions menu (or the details view): **View**, **Edit**, **Copy link**, **Download**, **Open Link**, and **Delete**.
* Select multiple codes with the row checkboxes to use the bulk selection bar (Select All / Cancel).
* Click **Refresh** to reload the list.

\[NEEDS VERIFICATION] Bulk actions beyond Select All / Cancel (e.g. bulk delete) were not found wired up in the current Nova code — the bulk action bar only exposes selection controls.

## How to use it

### Create a QR code

1. Go to **WhatsApp** → **WhatsApp QR Codes**.

2. Click **Create QR Code**.

3. Enter a **Prefilled Message** (up to 140 characters) — this is the text that will already be typed in when a customer opens the chat from the code.

4. Choose a **QR Image Format**: **SVG (recommended for print)** or **PNG (raster)**.

5. Click **Generate Code**. The new code's details open automatically.

### View or share a code

1. Click a row in the table, or choose **View** from its actions menu.

2. From here you can:
   * **Copy link** — copies the deep link (`wa.me/message/...`) to your clipboard.
   * **Download** — downloads the QR image.
   * **Open Link** — opens the deep link in a new tab to test it.
   * **Edit** — change the prefilled message.
   * **Delete** — retire the code (its short link stops working afterward).

### Edit a code

1. From a row's actions menu, click **Edit**.
2. Update the **Prefilled Message**.
3. Click **Save Changes**.

### Delete a code

1. From a row's actions menu, click **Delete**.
2. Confirm in the **Delete QR code?** dialog. This retires the code — anyone scanning it afterward sees an expired message.

  WhatsApp QR Codes requires an active, connected WhatsApp channel. If no channel is selected, or the active channel isn't connected to WhatsApp, you'll see a setup prompt instead of the QR code list.
