# Tally

> Send a WhatsApp message when someone submits a Tally form.

## What is this?

The **Tally** integration messages people on WhatsApp right after they submit one of your Tally forms. Each connection watches **one form**.

## What can I do here?

* Send a WhatsApp template when a form is submitted
* Connect several forms, each with its own message
* See every submission Tally sent, including failures
* Have every submission checked with a signature the platform generates

## How to use it

**1. Open the Tally page**

Go to **Integrations**, click **Tally**, then **Connect**.

**2. Enter your Tally details**

1. Paste your **Tally API key** (in Tally under **Settings → API keys**).
2. Enter the **Tally form ID or link**, for example `https://tally.so/r/AbC123`.

**3. Choose your messages**

Pick the WhatsApp template to send when the form is submitted:

| Event | When it happens |
| - | - |
| **Form submitted** | Someone submits the form |

Leave an event empty to send nothing for it.

**4. Set up and activate**

Click **Set up and activate**. The platform registers the webhook with Tally for you and creates a ready-made automation that sends the right template for each event. You can open that automation in the builder any time.

## Things to know

* **The customer's phone number** is taken from a phone-number input field, or from the answer to a question labelled like a phone number. Make sure your form asks for one — submissions without a phone number can't be messaged.
* **Repeats are ignored.** If Tally sends the same event twice, the customer isn't messaged twice.
* **One connection per form.** To watch another form, connect Tally again with that form's ID.

## Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

* **Connecting fails.** Check the details you entered and that they belong to the right Tally account. The error from Tally is shown on the page.

* **No messages are sent.** Check the connection shows **Connected**, a template is chosen for the event, and the template is approved.

* **A request shows as failed.** Open the connection's **Activity** tab and select the request to see the error and its raw body. A missing phone number is the most common cause.

* **Webhooks look missing.** On the connection page, click **Verify on Tally** to check they are still registered. If any are missing, disconnect and reconnect to register them again.

* **You rotated your key or token.** Open the connection's **Settings** tab and update the credentials.
