# Google Contacts

> Sync contacts between the platform and Google Contacts — push, pull, or both.

## What is this?

**Google Contacts** keeps your contacts and your Google Contacts in step. It's the **Google Contacts** tab of the Google panel under **Channels → Google**.

The Google integration needs a plan that includes Google, and your platform administrator must have set up Google OAuth first. Permissions control what you can do: `google:view` to see it, `google:create` to connect an account, `google:edit` to change sync settings, and `google:delete` to remove sheets or disconnect.

## What can I do here?

* Turn **Contacts Sync** on or off
* Choose a **Sync Direction**: push to Google, pull from Google, or both
* Assign labels to contacts that arrive through sync
* See when contacts were last pushed and pulled, and how many are synced
* Run **Sync Now** at any time

## How to use it

1. Turn on **Enable Contacts Sync** to sync contacts automatically.

2. Choose a **Sync Direction**:

   | Direction                 | What it does                                                                           |
   | ------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | **Push to Google**        | New contacts saved in the platform are pushed to Google Contacts. This is the default. |
   | **Pull from Google**      | Google Contacts are imported into the platform.                                        |
   | **Both (Bi-directional)** | Contacts are synced in both directions.                                                |

3. Under **Assign Labels to Synced Contacts**, choose labels to apply to contacts that come in through sync. If none are listed, create labels on the [Labels](/workspace/contacts/labels) page first.

4. Review the sync status — **Last push to Google**, **Last pull from Google**, and the number of **Synced contacts** — and click **Sync Now** to run a sync right away.

## Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

* **No labels are listed.** Create labels first on the [Labels](/workspace/contacts/labels) page.
* **Contacts aren't appearing in Google.** Check that **Enable Contacts Sync** is on and the direction is **Push to Google** or **Both**, then click **Sync Now**.
* **Google contacts aren't showing in the platform.** Set the direction to **Pull from Google** or **Both**, then click **Sync Now**.
* **Sync stopped working.** Use **Reconnect Google Account** on the [Google](/workspace/google/overview) page to grant access again.
* **You can't change sync settings.** You need `google:edit`.
