# Threads Channel

> Connect a Threads profile so replies and mentions arrive in your shared inbox.

## What is this?

This is the Threads view of [Channels](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/channels/overview.md) — open it from the **Threads** card, or go to `/channels?channel=threads`. It connects a **Threads profile** so that replies to your posts and @mentions arrive in your shared inbox. You answer them as public replies — meaning your response is visible to everyone on Threads, just as it would be if you replied in the Threads app directly.

> Threads must be included in your plan to appear. Your platform administrator must have set up Threads OAuth, and you need the Channels permission.

## What can I do here?

* Connect a Threads profile (and add more)
* See the profile's status and connection details
* Reconnect after a token expiry
* Disconnect the profile without losing your chats

## How to use it

### Connect a Threads profile

1. Open **Channels → Threads** and click **Add Threads profile**.
2. Log in with your Instagram/Meta account (Threads uses the same login) and approve access.
3. The profile appears as a card when connected.

### How the inbox works

Replies to your Threads posts and mentions of your profile arrive in the inbox. When you reply from the inbox, your answer is posted as a **public reply** on Threads — just like replying in the Threads app. There are no private (DM) messages on Threads.

### Disconnect the profile

Click **Disconnect** on the profile's card and confirm. When you disconnect:

* Threads is removed from this channel
* **Replies and mentions stop arriving** in your inbox
* **Scheduled posts will fail** — any posts queued for the future won't go out
* **Your chats and contacts stay** — existing conversations are kept

Reconnecting brings the profile back. To remove the whole channel and everything in it, use **Delete Channel** ([Channels](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/channels/overview.md#delete-a-channel)).

> Scheduled posts fail the moment you disconnect. Cancel or reschedule any queued posts before disconnecting.

## Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

* **Disconnect is greyed out.** You lack the delete permission — ask an admin.
* **Replies or mentions don't arrive.** Reconnect the profile to refresh the access token.
* **Add Threads profile is disabled.** Channel limit reached or Threads isn't in your plan.
