# Google Channel

> Connect a Google account to use Google Sheets, Calendar and Contacts with your channel.

## What is this?

This is the Google view of [Channels](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/channels/overview.md) — open it from the **Google** card, or go to `/channels?channel=google`. Connecting a Google account gives your channel access to **Google Sheets** (read and write), **Google Calendar** (read and write) and **Google Contacts** (read and write). These power tools in AI Agents and Automation — for example, **Look Up Sheet** (letting an agent answer from a spreadsheet), **Get My Appointments** (showing a customer their upcoming calendar events) and [Google Sheets sync in Contacts](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/contacts/overview.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Your platform administrator must have set up Google OAuth first. You need the Channels permission to connect an account.

## What can I do here?

* Connect your Google account and grant access to Sheets, Calendar and Contacts
* See whether the account is connected and which services are active
* Reconnect after a password change or token expiry
* Disconnect the Google account without losing your chats

## How to use it

### Connect a Google account

1. Open **Channels → Google** and click **Add new Google account** (or **Connect Google Account**).
2. Click **Sign in with Google** and log in with the Google account you want to use.
3. Grant the requested permissions (Sheets, Calendar and Contacts) — skip any you don't need, but the tools that use them won't be available.
4. *Your Google account is now connected* confirms the connection.

### What you get once connected

| Service | What it enables |
| - | - |
| **Google Sheets** | Read from or write to spreadsheets. Power the **Look Up Sheet** AI Agent capability, sync contacts as rows, log messages, or sync order and flow-form events. See [Integrations](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/integrations/overview.md) |
| **Google Calendar** | Show a customer their upcoming calendar events (via **Get My Appointments** in AI Agents), open events in Google Calendar, or use dynamic availability in Booking Studio |
| **Google Contacts** | Read and sync contacts between your channel and Google |

### How long the connection lasts

Google access tokens expire periodically. When one does, the card shows a warning and you'll need to **Reconnect** — log in with Google again and re-approve access. Nothing is lost; you're just re-authorising.

### Disconnect the account

Click **Disconnect** (or **Disconnect Google Account?**) and confirm. Your linked sheets stop syncing and Google Calendar events stop being readable. **Your chats and contacts stay.** Reconnecting with the same Google account restores access. To remove the whole channel, use **Delete Channel** ([Channels](https://docs.xpressbot.org/workspace/channels/overview.md#delete-a-channel)).

## Troubleshooting / Technical Notes

* **Sign in with Google fails.** Your administrator needs to check Google OAuth.
* **Look Up Sheet finds nothing.** After connecting, open the AI Agent capability and choose a sheet and tab — nothing is readable until you do.
* **Get My Appointments shows nothing.** The customer's verified email must be on the Calendar event's guest list. The agent looks 60 days ahead.
* **Token expired.** Click **Reconnect** and log in again.
* **Google OAuth is not enabled.** Ask your platform administrator to configure Google OAuth.
